Keep reading of the top signs you want to look out for to decide whether or not you should test for mold.

1.Health Symptoms

If you notice that your health is not at its best lately, this can be a sign that you are dealing with mold. The common symptoms of a mold allergy include having headaches, a runny nose, watery eyes, dizziness, sneezing, and in some cases memory loss.

If you are only having these symptoms while you are home then you might want to consider using a mold inspector to see whether or not it is being caused by mold in your house.

2.Odors

Whether you see mold or not, it always emits a funny smell. If there is an area that smells really musty then it is a high possibility that there is mold in that room. You can follow the smell and inspect the area yourself to see if you can reach the mold and treat it, or if it is in a hidden area like inside your walls where you need to call the pros to help you.

3.Spotting on Your Walls

Sometimes mold will appear as stains on your walls and they can vary in color between white, orange, brown, black, or green. In some cases, the stains can appear to have a furry texture. These are big indications that you are dealing with mold in your house.

Fungus thrives in any areas that are cool and damp and if the area that you notice these spots is conducive to mold growing you want to definitely get tested because more than likely this is mold growing right before your eyes.

4.Moisture

Excessive moisture on your windows or condensation is ideal for mold to breed in. Even if you have the best dehumidifier out there it might still allow just enough moisture for mold to grow and spread. If you have single-pane windows you might want to consider upgrading to double-glazed pane windows or if you are on a tighter budget at least pay to have the windows resealed.

Either way, too much condensation, and moisture is a big sign that you might have mold present and you might want to test to confirm whether you do or not.
